In 2005, Matt Long was riding his bike to work when a 20-ton bus ran a red light and pinned him underneath. The doctors told his family he had a 1% chance to make it through the night.
40 surgeries later, he finished the NYC Marathon. Then an Ironman. Then became one of the world’s most powerful voices on resilience.

What fitness level is required?
This is a hybrid athlete retreat. We accommodate all fitness levels! However, you should be comfortable with 45-60 minutes of moderate-to-high intensity work (at your own pace), running 5K, basic strength training, and hybrid circuits. Last year, we had first-timers and HYROX competitors training side by side. We scale every workout. You’ll be challenged at your level, never broken at someone else’s.
I don't know anyone – will I fit in?
Most athletes show up solo. By Saturday morning you’ll have a crew. The retreat is built around shared meals, partner workouts, and small-group recovery sessions specifically because connection is the point. 100% of last year’s athletes said they’d return — and most are coming back with friends.
Where will I stay?
Accommodations are not included in your ticket — but we make it easy. The retreat is hosted at the Allegria Hotel in Long Beach, NY, where most athletes book a room (shared or private). After you buy your ticket, you’ll get access to our roommate matching form to split costs with someone in the crew.
Prefer to do your own thing? You can book a nearby Airbnb or commute daily — Long Beach is 50 minutes from NYC by LIRR.
What about food?
Every meal is covered, breakfast, lunch, dinner, plus snacks and supplements throughout the weekend, including an Eat Clean Bro special. The menu is performance-focused: high protein, real food, designed to fuel three days of training. Tell us about allergies or restrictions in your registration form and we’ll handle it.
What should I bring?
A full packing list goes out 2 weeks before the retreat. Short version: training gear for warm and cool weather, a swimsuit for pool and ocean dips, recovery clothes, and an open mind. Equipment, supplements, and recovery tools are all provided onsite.
What if I can't make it after I buy?
Tickets are non-refundable but fully transferable until June 5, 2026. If life happens, you can transfer your spot to another athlete (sell it, gift it, whatever works). After June 5, tickets are locked in – venue and food costs are committed by then.
Is there a payment plan?
Yes. Klarna is built into checkout — split your ticket into 4-12 payments of $249.75 or less, every two weeks, zero interest. Same spot, same retreat, just paid over 6 weeks instead of upfront.
